Biochemistry is the study of the molecular basis of life and our Biochemistry MSci course will expose you to all areas of modern biochemistry.You will gain detailed knowledge of all the major areas of biochemistry research and acquire the practical experience needed to begin a career in a scientific research environment. The skills and behaviours you will develop will also be valuable in launching a career in a wide variety of scientific and commercial fields. You will also enjoy the opportunity to study abroad during your second year. All Biomedical Science disciplines are covered in the first year, making the decision for your future an informed one. On our Biochemistry MSci course you will study all areas of modern biochemistry including: biological chemistry, structural biology and biophysics, metabolism, cell biology, molecular genetics, bioinformatics, immunology and microbiology. Biochemistry is a subject in which practical skills and the capacity to experiment are vital. On our MSci course, alongside your theoretical learning, you will also be trained in laboratory techniques, experimental design, data analysis and presentation, particularly in the final year which focuses on these skills.
