Geology is the science that investigates how the Earth was formed, how life arose and evolved, why the Earth looks like it does today, what resources it contains and how we can find them. The discipline draws on knowledge from many different aspects of science such as chemistry, biology, and physics as well as other subjects such as geography, environmental science. Our society is based on the work of geologists in the hunt for natural resources for energy and materials for modern living. This means that future job opportunities for geologists are excellent as society develops increasing needs for these resources.<br>Geology with Integrated Master's is an applied course that examines the Earth, its structure, formation, composition, history, processes, hazards and materials. This course covers a range of topics which may include looking at rocks, minerals and fossils and geological processes. Beyond that, a range of optional modules allow you to tailor your degree towards your individual interests and/or career aspirations. The course adds an additional Master's level year to our BSc Geology degree programme, during which there is a strong emphasis on developing the vocational and research skills you will need to work in industry or advance in academia.
