Your study of chemistry will prepare you with the analytical and collaborative skills for a host of challenging and productive careers. Options for specialization include environmental chemistry, forensic chemistry, pharmacology and teaching. The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry emphasizes close interactions with students and is home to 20 faculty who manage internationally recognized research programs in addition to teaching, mentoring and advising graduate and undergraduate students. Faculty and staff provide a supportive and responsive environment that is not always possible in large departments.
