The Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences undergraduate programs offers five Bachelor's degree and one track option. These thorough, but flexible undergraduate programs provides excellent preparation for graduate education in the life sciences, professional degree programs, or specialized skill set in medical laboratory sciences. For students with a strong interest in cell biology and the mechanisms that underlie human diseases, the new B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology combines a core curriculum in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry with a depth of knowledge in Cell Biology coursework that is supported with substantial laboratory training. The B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology, includes foundational courses in cell biology that establish the normal processes, then expands with courses that reflect when that biology goes awry (Cancer Biology, Molecular Basis of Disease, Human Genetics, etc.). This curriculum is rooted in the molecular basis of both normal and disease states that will support students who are interested in both professional (medical, dental) schools and graduate education in a broad range of life science disciplines to have a strong record and background for future success.
