The Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences undergraduate programs offers five Bachelor's degree and one track option. These thorough, but flexible undergraduate programs provides excellent preparation for graduate education in the life sciences, professional degree programs, or specialized skill set in medical laboratory sciences. For students with a strong interest in infectious disease, the new B.S. in Molecular Microbiology combines a core curriculum in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry with a depth of knowledge in Microbiology, Immunology and Infectious Disease coursework that is supported with substantial laboratory training. The B.S. in Molecular Microbiology, which includes a broad array of courses to choose from in the area of infectious disease (virology, bacterial genetics, microbiology, genomics, molecular immunology, etc.) will help students who are interested in both professional (medical, dental) schools and graduate education in infectious diseases to have a strong record and background for future success.
