Admission to the Graduate Program in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering is based on careful evaluation of scholastic record, letters of recommendation, and performance on the Graduate Record Examinations (GRE). Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English unless the official language of their country is English – TOEFL score of at least 550 (paper test) or 213 (computer based test). Students whose undergraduate degrees are in a field other than chemical engineering may take undergraduate core chemical and biochemical engineering courses during their first year with approval from the Director of Graduate Program. A Bachelor’s major in chemical engineering or related discipline is highly recommended.
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
The minimum TOEFL scores are 550 (paper-based) or 213 (computer-based).
The minimum IBT internet-based TOEFL scores: writing 22, speaking 23, reading 21, listening 17.
An acceptable IELTS score is bandwidth 7.
