With two tracks to choose from the Biology graduate degree offers advanced training in the biological sciences leading to entrance in doctoral programs, or employment in government agencies, educational institutions, and private industry. Areas of expertise include Botany, Genetics, Marine Biology, Microbiology, Molecular and Cell Biology, and Wetlands/Coastal Ecology.Thesis Track - Requires 33 credit-hours of course work. Non-Thesis Track - Requires 36 credit-hours of course work. One will have the opportunity to structure his or her course work and thesis topic according to his or her other particular research interests in biology (to include Microbiology, Marine Biology, Biotechnology, or Molecular/Immunobiology). The general Biology non-thesis master's degree is a flexible graduate degree that allows students to tailor coursework to their specific interests. The degree does not require completion of a thesis.
