Teacher Recommendation
Georgetown University requires submission of SAT and/or ACT scores as part of our holistic application review process. Candidates for admission should submit official score reports from the College Board and/or ACT.
SAT (SAT Code 5244)
• Students must submit an official score report from The College Board.
• Georgetown only considers the Verbal (EBRW) and Math portions of the SAT in our review process.
• The Committee on Admissions will consider the highest EBRW score and the highest Math score from multiple test administrations.
ACT (ACT Code 0668)
• Students must submit an official score report.
• Georgetown only considers the English, Math, Reading, and Science sections of the ACT in our review process.
• Georgetown does not use the new ACT super score optional reports. Please send all individual ACT scores to our office from each ACT test administration as we are not a score choice school.
Georgetown recommends, but does not require, results from an English language proficiency test for students who attend a school where English is not the language of instruction.
Georgetown accepts results from the DET (Duolingo English Test), IELTS, or TOEFL (PBT, iBT and IPT Plus versions), to fulfill this recommendation.

课程简介
The majors in Biochemistry and Chemistry are designed to provide sound training in the fundamental principles and basic techniques of the science, progressing to in-depth advanced study and research opportunities. The Chemistry major is certified by the American Chemical Society and allows students to explore the five divisions of chemistry: organic, physical, analytical, inorganic and biochemistry. The Biochemistry major offers a comprehensive training in this dynamic field through several specialized lecture and lab courses as well as the freedom to individualize the curriculum with 3 advanced elective options. <br><br>The Chemistry major is fully accredited by the American Chemical Society (ACS). Students, who have earned a B.S. degree in Chemistry at Georgetown, are well-prepared for graduate study in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or other closely related scientific fields at any U.S. university, for medical school and M.D.-Ph.D. programs, for careers in industry, government, academia and research, and for many other opportunities (see our Learning Goals). With the inclusion of introductory biology, the curriculum provides an excellent background and all of the necessary prerequisites for Medical School admissions. The Biochemistry major curriculum also provides rigorous training suitable for Medical School admissions, graduate study in Biochemistry or graduate studies in any of the basic medical sciences. It is particularly well suited for students aspiring to M.D.Ph.D. programs. Some of our recent graduates have also gone on directly to industrial, academic, or research careers, or to law schools and graduate schools of business.
