To be admitted to the graduate program, prospective candidates must first meet all requirements for graduate admission to UT Rio Grande Valley, as well as the other requirements listed below:

Undergraduate degree with a major in a Science Technology Engineering or Math (STEM) area.
Undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0 in STEM courses.
Undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0 in the last 60 semester credit hours.
Two letters of recommendation from professional or academic sources. For example: A professor or work supervisor.
Statement of Interest explaining objectives in pursuing the degree and area of interest within the advance Biochemistry and Molecular Biology degree. Please specify in the Statement of Interest if you would like to pursue a thesis or non-thesis option.
GRE General Test: GRE test is valid for 5 years. A waiver of the GRE requirement will be granted to applicants who show proof of completing a graduate degree (master's or doctoral in a STEM field).
