English for Academic Purposes (EAP) is an intensive program designed to prepare GV Pathway students to succeed at a college or university in Canada or other English-speaking countries.<br>English for Academic Purposes (EAP) courses at Global Village help you improve your English level through focussed practice on academically-themed classes and activities. The EAP program focuses on strengthening general language skills, especially advanced level communication skills and academic reading and writing skills. The program also covers critical thinking skills, research skills, study skills, note-taking, presentations and group work.<br><br>Improving your language skills to “college-level” takes time and may take many months if your initial language level is fairly low. There is no minimum level to begin your studies at Global Village, but our EAP option classes usually start at the GV3 level.<br><br> <br><br>Who is this course for<br>These classes are designed for students who are preparing for international admissions to a university or college in Canada or who want to bring their English level up to that standard. Students who want to study at a college or university in Canada must prove their level of English meets the academic requirements of Higher Ed (Higher Education) in Canada.<br><br>As part of the program, regular meetings with the Pathway Advisor are scheduled. These meetings will not only review academic progress on the pathway, but can also cover the application process and communication with the collegeuniversity to ensure a successful transfer.
