Students pursuing the BFA in Writing, with a track in either Professional Writing or Creative Writing, will maintain a tight focus on learning to write effectively in a number of genres. This tighter focus will help our graduating BFA students gain employment in the business world (professional writing focus) andor earn scholarshipsfellowshipsassistantships in graduate school (creative writing focus). Year in and year out, employers list their top two criteria for new hires as writing ability and the ability to think critically. Our new program is set up to directly target those two desired areas. USC Aiken is the only state institution to offer such a program in South Carolina.
