The University of Montana introduced the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Creative Writing in 2020. The program is designed to support and mentor students by providing fundamental skills and experiences that prepare them for graduate school and the professional world. Students learn from our nationally-ranked MFA program faculty and receive critical feedback from their peers in the vibrant literary and arts community of Missoula. Our BFA program blends together courses in creative writing, literature, and hands-on experiences to create a robust educational experience for all students. Our program culminates with a capstone course students enroll in during their final semester.
