The Pre-sessional English programme at Manchester Met is not just a language course. You will continue to study the four skills (reading, writing, speaking, listening), as well as grammar and vocabulary, but you will concentrate on your use of English in an academic environment. We will also introduce you to the academic skills that you will require on your degree course.You will have 19 hours of lessons per week on the 40, 30 and 20 week courses and 22 hours of lessons per week on the 10 and 5 week courses, including Conversation Club and Guest Lectures. Our Guest Lectures will give you the opportunity to experience live academic lectures and to practise listening and taking notes in a real life context. You will also have regular tutorials with your Personal Tutor to discuss your progress and to set individual study targets.Our 5-week pre-sessional course is also a great choice for students who have already met the language conditions of their offer but who would like to familiarise themselves with academic English and develop the study skills essential to university life in the UK.
