You will have a conditional offer for your degree programme, and you will need to apply for the course which best meets your needs.As a student with a conditional (standalone) offer, you must take an IELTS Academic English test for UKVI purposes (IELTS SELT) at one of the new UKVI approved test centres in order to get your study (Tier 4) visa. The Skills Centre has its own grading system. Your teachers will use this to assess your readiness for academic study in the four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. Our courses include weekly lectures delivered by world-class academics here at Bath. As well as being interesting and relevant to your degree programme, these talks give you authentic experience in listening, note-taking and academic discussions.During your studies with us, you will write an essay based on research that you do throughout the course. This project will build your confidence and ability in academic research, critical thinking and essay writing. You will also gain better control of grammar and increase your range of vocabulary relevant to your field of study.
