You will focus on the key academic skills and language you’ll need to succeed in your future studies with us.<br><br>The course aims to:<br><br>• raise your level of English language proficiency and academic skills;<br><br>• improve your confidence working in an academic environment;<br><br>• help to prepare you for studying at this University.<br><br>Your studies will include:<br><br>• 12 hours per week of tutor-led sessions in groups of up to 18 students;<br><br>• between 10-15 hours per week of interactive tasks to be completed either in study groups of up to five students or individually online;<br><br>• an individual 20-minute tutorial meeting with your tutor every two weeks.<br><br>There is flexibility for you to choose when to do the individual tasks, but you must attend the tutor-led sessions and study groups at the specified time.<br><br>Each course starts with optional Welcome Days, designed to prepare you for studying with us. During your course, you will have tutor-led sessions, individual and group tutorial meetings with your tutor and interactive tasks to be completed individually and collaboratively in your study group.<br><br>All University of Manchester courses are taught by enthusiastic, qualified and experienced tutors.
