Two original references attesting to the applicant’s intellectual ability, maturity and motivation are required.
A Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) score may be requested for some PhD programmes.
Admission onto the UCD Smurfit School PhD is subject to stringent entrance criteria, the submission of a proposal outlining your intended line of research, references and, where appropriate, proof of linguistic and academic ability.
A minimum 2.1 primary degree in Commerce or Business Studies, or in a subject closely related to the proposed area of study or An appropriate Master’s degree (or equivalent) from a recognised higher education institution or Evidence of academic standing and/or relevant professional experience proving the applicant’s suitability for doctoral studies
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - An average score of 6.5 over all components and a minimum of 6.0 in each band on the Academic Version. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) administered by Princeton University - A minimum score of 600 in the paper-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL PBT), with Test of Written English at 475 +. In the computer based TOEFL, a minimum score of 250 is required. A minimum score of 90 is required in the Internet based based TOEFL (iBT).
