In this programme, students will learn language and communication skills at a basic to intermediate level. Students will develop oral and written English skills to help them use and understand English in familiar situations, and will develop their face-to-face and online learning study skills. Holders of this certificate will have the English language skills to work in positions that require: Participation in basic face-to-face meetings, discussions and communication, Respond to basic written and spoken instructions and Production of basic written texts relevant to the workplace. This certificate builds on the New Zealand Certificate in English Language (Level 1) and can lead to the New Zealand Certificate in English Language (General) (Level 3).
