Our Pre-sessional English courses are designed for international students who are intending to study at the University of Liverpool or another institution for undergraduate, postgraduate or a PhD programme at a British university.Our Pre-sessional English course normally has five entry stages; you can join us for a 40-week, 30-week, 20-week, 10-week or 6-week course. During the summer, fully online courses are normally offered. Dates for these online courses will normally be announced before the end of December of the previous year.In order to join the course, you must meet the minimum entry requirements for that stage, and also have submitted an application to study at either the University of Liverpool or another institution (applicants for the 40-week and 30-week courses may be considered even if they have not yet been able to submit an application for an academic programme, as long as their Pre-Sessional application was made before October 2025).The length of the course you need to attend is determined by your current level of English and the entry requirements of your academic programme.Successful completion of the course at the required level will allow you to progress to academic study at the University of Liverpool, whether you study online or on campus.
