English for Medical Professionals is a fast-paced program focusing on the language skills required for students who are working or studying within a medical field. Focusing equally on speaking, listening, reading and writing, and working with ‘real-life' resources such as professional-patient consultations and reports, the EMP program provides targeted, rigorous and challenging study for those pursuing a career in healthcare. Morning classes provide a broad area of language skill development, while the afternoon classes focus on skills development in preparation for the Cambridge Occupational English Test (OET), the examination of English for medical purposes widely recognised in Australia and throughout the world. The Cambridge OET is recognised by professional bodies and universities as an IELTS equivalency exam specifically designed to test the English language level of healthcare professionals. It can be used for professional purposes, for university entrance and for immigration to Australia. Lexis schools are an approved OET test venue.
