The overall goal of the Bachelor of Science degree program with a major in Cardiorespiratory Care Science (CRCS) is to prepare graduates with demonstrated competence in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains of respiratory care practice as performed by registered respiratory therapists (RRTs). The program strives to prepare leaders for the field of respiratory care by including curricular content that includes objectives related to the acquisition of skills in one or more of the following:<br><br>management,<br>education,<br>research,<br>and advanced clinical practice.<br>The program is designed as a four-year curriculum plan, students complete pre-professional general education courses during the first two years and advance to the CRCS professional courses during the last two years. Upon completion of the program of study, Tennessee State University awards the Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Cardiorespiratory Care Science.
