The goal of the Health Education major is to prepare graduates to be critical and creative thinkers as well as lifelong learners in the dynamic field of health education. Coursework and fieldwork focus on developing the knowledge, understanding, competencies, and experiences required of professionals teaching health education in a variety of settings. Worcester State University also offers initial licensure for health education programs in middle and secondary education (grades 5-12). The Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure (MTEL) must be passed for licensure. Students in the Health Education major and Education minor will need an advisor from each of these departments.
