Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) uses a strong magnetic field and radio waves with computerized equipment to generate sectional images of patient anatomy. MRI technologists use problem solving and critical skills to adapt procedural requirements to the patient and specific area of study.<br><br>The MRI certificate program provides academic and clinical studies to prepare you to be an MRI technologist who provides quality patient care and performs studies utilizing imaging equipment, professional communication, and quality assurance in scheduled and emergency procedures. <br><br>Program eligibility is limited to ARRT-registered radiographers, radiation therapists, or nuclear medicine technologists or equivalent (NMTCB), or Sonographers or equivalent (ARDMS) registration. Graduates are eligible to take the post-primary certification exam offered by the ARRT for MRI. After passing this exam, you may apply for Florida state licensure and operation of MRI equipment.
