The Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (B.I.S.) in Global Studies prepares students to be globally aware and competent in their chosen careers. In addition to focusing on global opportunities and pressing challenges, students develop deep regional concentration in a particular area of focus including Europe, Africa, Asia, the Middle East or Latin America. The Global Studies program offers flexibility for students to create a tailored course of study that fits their interests and career goals. Students should work closely with an advisor to ensure that their course selections keep them on track for graduation.The major requires students to translate their classroom knowledge into the field by completing experiential and immersive learning activities that promote intercultural competence. Students are encouraged to participate in study abroad programs, academic simulations such as Model UN and internship or volunteer activities.
