This interdisciplinary certificate prepares students for leadership positions within the senior housing and healthcare industry, including long-term care administration. With satisfactory completion of undergraduate course work in accounting and these courses related to laws and regulations concerning long term care, the aging process, and administrative and financial aspects of operation, students meet course work requirements for the examination required to be licensed as a Nursing Home Administration in Illinois. This certificate is open to any NIU graduate student or graduate student-at-large in good academic standing in the university. A student wishing to pursue this certificate should consult with their program adviser or School of Family and Consumer Sciences program faculty.
