The emerging field of Health Promotion and Worksite Wellness focuses on issues related to the effects of physical activity (and inactivity), nutrition, obesity and metabolic irregularities and their relationship to disease prevention, health promotion, and wellness enhancement. Many of the health problems we face today require a multifaceted approach, and this specialization provides students with the necessary tools to formulate and implement important solutions to improve overall healh. With an ever-increasing trend toward healthy lifestyles, this specialization offers students the opportunity to focus on health education within the community and the workplace. Organizations are recognizing the value in assisting employees in staying healthy and fit and lowering stress levels. The Health Promotion degree is designed to focus on the social and psychological sphere of health education. Students will explore topics related to individual and group behaviors, and learn techniques to apply health promotion knowledge to diverse populations.
