The program proudly prepares students to work in the specialized field of cardiovascular medicine, operating in the Invasive Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. Students will become competent in performing complex cardiac procedures including Percutaneous Transcatheter Coronary Angiography (PTCA), Peripheral Coronary Interventions (PCI), Electrophysiology studies, Peripheral Vascular Angiography/Interventions, Hemodynamic Cardiac Pressure Monitoring, and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). Graduates of the program qualify to challenge the Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) credential exam by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). The Invasive Cardiovascular Technology (ICVT) Program is Nationally Accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). This program prides itself on building quality technologists and future leaders in cardiovascular medicine.
