The MS program is designed as a flexible degree program that allows students to pursue in-depth study in areas corresponding to faculty expertise. Traditional areas of study include: athletic training, biomechanics, motor control and development, exercise physiology, physical education pedagogy, sport and exercise psychology, and recreation and sport management. MS degree students may pursue either a thesis option or a non-thesis option. The thesis option requires 24 credit hours of coursework, 6 hours of research credit hours, and the completion (and defense) of a thesis project. The non-thesis option caters to those students with a professional practice orientation. This option requires 30 hours of course work and culminates with a capstone project. Course requirements of the MS degree are developed in consultation with the student's advisor and advisory committee.
