The Oral Medicine Residency sponsored by Harvard School of Dental Medicine is an intensive training program for dentists committed to pursuing a full-time academic and/or institutional career. Clinical training is based at Harvard affiliated teaching hospitals including at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. Trainees are co-appointed as Residents at Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH) and Harvard School of Dental Medicine (HSDM). The program is fully accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA). This is a three-year program, with stipend support, culminating in a certificate of completion. Salary and benefits follow the Partners Resident Salary Scale for PGY1, PGY2 and PGY3. There is an associated facilities fee every year but no tuition. Trainees in this track are encouraged to consider pursuing further training in clinical research through various available mechanisms to best prepare for a successful academic and/or institutional career. One to two positions are available each year, beginning in mid-June.
