The M.H.A. program enhances the career mobility of students at any stage of their careers in healthcare administration. The traditional M.H.A. program, which is in a hybrid format, is geared toward students entering or in the early phase of their healthcare careers. The mission of the School of Health Administration at Texas State University is to prepare leaders to serve in a variety of diverse healthcare environments and to add to the body of knowledge in healthcare management and leadership. Principal areas of study include health and disease; sociological, economic, legal, and political forces which affect health care; and management organizational behaviors including such specializations as financial management, human resource management, planning, marketing, and data generation and analysis.
