The Doctor of Audiology (AuD) program at USA prepares students for professional clinical audiology careers and certification by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), as well as for further graduate study leading to a PhD. Our comprehensive curriculum includes foundational science courses and specialized training in assessment, intervention, and prevention techniques for hearing and balance disorders across all ages.<br><br>Students gain hands-on experience through clinical practicums at the USA Speech and Hearing Center and various community sites, including private practices, hospitals, and schools. The program spans 9 semesters, including three semesters of a full-time clinical externship, meeting the requirements for national certification (CCC-A) and Alabama State Licensure. Competitive Graduate Assistantships are available annually. <br><br>Applications are accepted after August 1, with enrollment beginning in the Summer Semester. The preferred deadline for receipt of application materials is December 15, but applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Decisions are made as complete applications are received.
