Indiana University of Pennsylvania's Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology major prepares students for careers in the speech-language pathologist practice. This program awards students a Bachelor of Science degree and equips them with the skills needed to continue on to a master's program.<br><br>Speech-language pathologists help stroke victims struggling to talk to their family and kindergartners frustrated when their teachers cant understand their words. As a speech-language pathology and audiology major at IUP, you take your first, important step toward becoming a speech-language pathologist or audiologist.<br><br>Our undergraduate program in speech-language pathology and audiology prepares you to enroll in a graduate program in either speech-language pathology or audiology. Upon completion of our bachelor's degree program, students will be able to:<br><br>Explain the foundations of typical speech, language, swallowing, and hearing function across the lifespan and methods for measuring them.<br><br>Describe the clinical signs of and etiologies related to speech, language, swallowing, and hearing disorders.<br><br>Demonstrate disciplinary skills required for clinical work in speech-language pathology and audiology.
