Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences (SLHS) is a top-ranked program that offers an undergraduate major focused on the science of human communication and disorders affecting our ability to communicate effectively. In SLHS, you will learn about the mechanisms underlying our ability to hear sounds, understand language, speak efficiently, and swallow safely. You will gain foundational knowledge in the evaluation, treatment, and research driving the field of human communication and its disorders (e.g., aphasia, autism, stuttering, voice and swallowing impairments, and hearing loss, to name a few).<br><br>SLHS is housed in Lyles-Porter Hall and offers audiology clinics, speech, language, and swallowing clinics, and state-of-the-art research laboratories. The SLHS major provides students with the foundational tools for a variety of careers in a healthcare setting.
