This degree option contains approximately 2/3 science and 1/3 business/communication courses and a 1 credit internship experience with reflective seminar. Students are required to take 5 Core Curriculum science courses and select an additional 3 science courses from a list of Department STEM Elective courses. Students will select 2 courses from an approved list of PLUS Elective courses and are required to take 1 required PLUS course. Students, who graduate from the Applied Biomedical Science option, are exceptionally prepared to work in the life sciences, biomedical device, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical industries. They report nearly 100 percent employment. Many of our undergraduate students go onto graduate school at UMass Lowell, with some attending medical, physician assistant and veterinarian schools. Our highly sought after Medical Laboratory Science graduates have an average job placement rate of 100 percent in hospital-based clinical laboratories across the region.
