The American Occupational Therapy Association requires entry level education at the either the master's OR doctoral level for occupational therapists. Either level of entry into practice is acceptable. The entry level Master of Occupational Therapy Program (MSOT) was designed around the curricular themes of Interprofessional Education, Professional Responsibility, and Excellence in Practice. The program start date is mid-May every year. The mission of the Occupational Therapy program is to provide competent health care providers who possess basic skills as health care providers, consultants, educators, managers, researchers, and advocates for the profession and the consumer. In addition the program seeks to improve patient access and quality care for rural and underserved populations through interprofessional education.
