The sport administration graduate program is a hands-on and practical-based program in which students are directly involved with the management of sport organizations. Students work together as they are challenged to apply theoretical concepts to essential sport management job functions. CMU graduate students are successful in securing highly competitive internship opportunities with the United States Olympic Committee, NASCAR, national teams, collegiate athletic departments, sport governing bodies, sport commissions, and various high school sport associations. The CMU Department of Physical Education & Sport offers graduate assistantships and research assistantships to students in the sport administration program. Some students also secure a graduate assistantship with University Recreation, Athletics, CMU Events or Ticket Central. CMU offers graduate students a unique opportunity to pursue research, teaching, or a wide range of sport management responsibilities while pursuing their degree.
