The Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program at Truman State University is designed for individuals who have already completed a Bachelor's degree in another major who want to pursue a Bachelor of Science in nursing. The accelerated nursing program can be completed in 18 months of class and clinical experiences. Students who have completed a previous bachelor's degree and specified pre-requisite courses may complete the suggested program for the ABSN in 18 months of study. Courses start in the summer. Students anticipating admission to the ABSN program may be allowed to register for some of the Nursing (NU prefix) courses. The number of applicants accepted for admission into nursing each year is limited. The nursing admissions committee seeks to select the most qualified applicants for admission. Admission to the program is dependent upon an individual evaluation of the applicant materials and the number of available seats.
