Post-master's certificates are offered to enable nurses who hold master's degrees in nursing to gain the knowledge and competencies needed for certification in additional areas. Students enroll in specialty coursework that is part of the master's degree program. Completion of the post-master's option enables students to take the certification examination for the appropriate area of specialty. Core courses required for students in their original Master's degree nursing program will be evaluated for equivalency to the required post-master's certificate courses.
