Students admitted to the MSN Program in the School of Nursing are granted full admission with an undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale for BSN and all previous nursing degrees. The University of Akron College of Nursing Master of Science in Nursing curriculum is designed to provide a sequential plan of study in several advanced practice options and other advanced role specialties. The purposes of the program are to provide preparation for advanced nursing practice as a clinical nurse specialist, nurse practitioner, or nurse anesthetist, preparation for the role of nurse educator, or administrator of nursing service, and to provide a foundation for doctoral study.
