The MPH program is designed to be a contemporary, academically rigorous 2-year program with both thesis and experiential capstone options. The program will provide instruction in the core public health disciplines of Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Environmental Health Sciences, Health Policy and Management, and Social and Behavioral Sciences. We are delighted to be able to add this new degree program to the public health offerings at UC San Diego. It will be an excellent complement to the Bachelor of Science in Public Health, the Joint Doctoral Program in Public Health (with San Diego State University), and the PhD in Biostatistics. The MPH will enroll its first class of students in Fall 2018. The program is designed to be an academically rigorous 2-year program with thesis and capstone options. It will meet all of the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) requirements and, as it evolves, will match the priorities and strengths of the proposed UC San Diego School of Public Health. The MPH program will provide instruction in the core public health disciplines: Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Environmental Health Sciences, Health Policy and Management, and Social and Behavioral Sciences, as well as engaging with departments across campus to address key aspects of 21st century public health, including climate change and data science.
