The MS in public health, often a precursor to the Ph.D., prepares students for research positions in local, state, or federal agencies, in private or public health organizations, or in health research programs. The MS ensures graduates have a general understanding of public health as well as specialized research expertise. MS students matriculate into one of the four divisions within the School of Public Health: Community Health Sciences, Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences, or Health Policy and Administration. Through the division of Health Policy and Administration the School also offers a degree in Clinical and Translational Science (MS CTS).
