Clinical scientists play a critical role in helping to save lives and contribute to the health of our communities. They combine the latest research and investigation and analysis technologies to isolate the cause of disease and develop treatments, as well as examining social and community factors contributing to health. The objectives of this course are to gain: • the appropriate knowledge base and learning skills to facilitate passage into graduate-entry dentistry, medicine or other health sciences • an understanding of what might be the cause and treatment of disease, as well as the social and community factors that contribute to health status and the way health professionals can interact to improve patient care • a platform of understanding for employment in a variety of public health, research and health technology occupations. You will complete foundation subjects in medical science, humanities, Indigenous awareness, ethical practice and rural-oriented clinical research and practice
