Pursue a rewarding career helping people and communities to embrace exercise, nutrition and wellbeing.This course features unique placements with our partner, the Derby City Move More Consortium.The first course of its kind, this specialist degree will equip you with the skills to have a real impact on improving health and wellbeing in today's society.Enjoy unique work placement opportunities and build your network of contacts with our partner, the Derby City Move More Consortium, as well as many more local organisations, such as Disability Opportunities in Sport UK who run specialised basketball classes for individuals with varied disabilities classes for individuals with learning disabilities and mental wellbeing. <br><br>Our pioneering BSc (Hons) Physical Activity, Nutrition and Health gives you the chance to transform your passion for sport and exercise into career roles where you can make a real difference to people's lives.<br><br>Youll explore the importance of physical activity and nutrition in preventing and managing disease as well as promoting optimal health and wellbeing at all stages in life. Throughout, you will draw on the latest scientific evidence to underpin your work.<br><br>With its strong focus on real world learning, the course enables you to apply your skills and knowledge to practical health promotion projects. You will gain experience of working with individuals to change their attitudes to exercise and nutrition. You will also take part in initiatives which aim to improve the health and exercise habits of entire communities and population groups.<br><br>Our BSc (Hons) Physical Activity, Nutrition and Health course is designed to make you highly employable. You will graduate with the applied experience, knowledge and professionalism you need for a variety of careers related to community development, nutrition and healthy eating promotion, health improvement, exercise referral and lifestyle management. Along with your subject-specific knowledge, youll graduate with a wide range of transferable skills such as communication, problem-solving, research and presentation skills which will stand you in good stead wherever your career takes you.<br><br>You could secure employment with a wide range of organisations including the NHS, local councils and public health agencies. With postgraduate teacher training, there are opportunities to go into educational careers too.<br><br>You could also consider taking your qualifications to the next level. We now offer the MSc Applied Sport and Exercise Science which includes Sport and Exercise Psychology or Physiology pathways where you will develop advanced knowledge in your subject. Another option is our MRes (Sport and Exercise) where you can further your applied research skills.
