Myotherapy involves an extensive physical evaluation and an integrated therapeutic approach in the treatment of affected muscles, joints and nerves.<br><br>Students gain an in depth understanding of human biology, musculoskeletal anatomy and function. Through extensive practical classes and clinical experience, students learn to conduct testing and physical assessments and apply a variety of practical skills such as myofascial release, dry needling, joint mobilisation and trigger point therapy. Sports injury management, nutrition and exercise therapy and rehabilitation also add a broader scope to learning and career outcomes.<br>Myotherapists can practice independently or within a multi-disciplinary setting and are able to confidently treat a wide range of clients within their scope of practice without referral. Practitioners may choose to work with specialised groups such as athletes and sporting teams, pre and postnatal care, aged care, rehabilitation and palliative care.
