Underpinned by a comprehensive understanding of human occupation, the full time BSc Occupational Therapy degree from Northumbria will allow you to develop the skills, confidence and knowledge required to prepare you for a career in occupational therapy. The course’s contemporary curriculum will develop your theoretical understanding of the links between occupation, health and wellbeing as well as your knowledge of the sciences, which inform professional understanding of human function. You will also gain knowledge of legislation and policy to enable practice in contemporary health and care environments. Thanks to education delivered through a series of lectures, workshops, and real-life simulation, this course will allow you to be eligible for professional registration following successful completion of your degree. An integral part of the programme is practice placement experience which add up to 1 third of your total time with us. By the end of the programme you will have completed a minimum of 1000 clinical hours within a mixture of NHS Trusts, Local Authority Services as well as possible opportunities within emerging areas of practice.
