Amongst a team of skilled healthcare professionals – including doctors and nurses – physiotherapists independently identify, assess and analyse physical problems caused by injury, illness or ageing and treat them by taking a holistic approach using skills such as manual therapy, exercise or therapeutic handling.<br>Our three-year course incorporates the core values of the NHS constitution to help prepare you for the challenges of working as a physiotherapist in contemporary healthcare. You’ll learn to assess what people need, and identify their problems. We’ll help you to understand how to set treatment goals and determine approaches that provide the maximum benefit for your patient.<br>Graduates from our course usually begin their physiotherapy careers by working as band 5 physiotherapists, on rotation positions in NHS hospitals. Some of our recent graduates are working for Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust and for East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust.
