Children's nurses need to be able to demonstrate competence in the fundamentals of nursing care across people's lifespan, with a particular focus on meeting the needs of children and families. We recognise that as the context of healthcare delivery is changing, it is essential for nurses to be able to work flexibly, inter-professionally and collaboratively in a way that is meaningful and relevant. Our master's degree gives you the chance to undertake an Children's Nursing course leading to registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. The PG Cert second registration course offers qualified nurses (adult, mental health or learning disability) the opportunity to gain registration as a registered children's nurse whilst also receiving an academic award. Both courses are available part-time and full-time on the Oxford and Swindon campuses. If you have a bachelor's degree, this three-year pre-registration Master's degree gives you the chance to undertake a Children's Nursing course leading to registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. The course is available part-time and full-time on the Oxford campus.<br><br>Full time: MSC: 2 years full time with AP(E)L (health related degree and health care experience) - health related degree and approximately 700 hours of healthcare experience. PGCert: 1 year full time. A 3-year route is available for those without a health-related degree or healthcare experience. This involves successful completion of the first year of the BSc Nursing programme at which point a transfer to the MSc route can be made.
