The MSc Nursing course will allow you to examine contemporary nursing issues from a clinical perspective. Available to nurses who hold a registration in the UK or another country, this course offers an exciting mix of theory and practical application through the use of enquiry-based learning and workshops where a range of table top exercises and simulation will be utilised to develop your practical and management skills and knowledge. This 20-month course commences in January, with a break between June and August. This allows you the time to seek your own placement, living and study abroad opportunities during this time should you wish. Throughout the duration of your course you will have access to our leading facilities and dedicated Clinical Skills Centre.<br><br>This course provides both practical and a theoretical module content that reflects the nursing professional requirements and follow the QAA benchmarks for nurse education. You will leave equipped and prepared for the changing nature of healthcare from both a national and international perspective. You will also possess the ability to play an active role in the leadership of change and service improvement. Northumbria University boasts close links with local NHS Trusts and, although we do not offer clinical placements as part of the programme, every effort is made to ensure that you leave with an in-depth understanding of how the NHS is structured, organised, financed and led. You will also be actively encouraged to attend local and national events, providing an invaluable opportunity to meet practitioners and experts within the field of healthcare.
