An International English Language Testing System (IELTS) overall academic score of at least 6.0 (with at least 5.5 in each band), issued within the last two years or the equivalent.
NCEA Level 3 comprised of 60 credits at NCEA Level 3 or higher and 20 credits at NCEA Level 2 or higher, including:
14 credits each at NCEA Level 3 in three approved subjects
Literacy - 10 credits at NCEA Level 2 or above made up of:
5 credits in reading
5 credits in writing
Numeracy - 10 credits at NCEA Level 1 or above in made up of:
Achievement standards - specified achievement standards available through a range of subjects, or
Unit standards - package of three numeracy unit standards (26623, 26626, 26627 - all three required)
or
Any qualification (New Zealand or overseas) recognised by NZQA as being equivalent to achievement of NCEA Level 3
