A Broad Interdisciplinary Undergraduate Degree. You will learn the musical and historical elements of jazz by studying jazz improvisation, theory, history, composition and arranging by taking weekly jazz lessons in your area of expertise. You also will perform in one of several jazz ensembles and a faculty-coached combo. This program focuses on the musical and historical elements of jazz. Students will study jazz improvisation, theory, history, and jazz composition and arranging, in addition to core studies in music theory, aural skills and functional keyboard.
