The Diablo Valley College philosophy program gives you the opportunity to study basic questions about the meaning and purpose of human life. Studying philosophy is a great way to sharpen your critical thinking skills and gain a better understanding of one's self and humanity as a whole. Although some students are able to get an entry-level position after completing the program, most students transfer to a four-year university to gain a bachelor's degree. Those interested in a career in philosophy often teach or research at the university level. These careers often require more than a bachelor's degree.
